Welcome to datafruits. We think you’ll like being a DJ here. It’s just a website. Must have been the onion salad dressing. What do these all mean? Soon you’ll know.
Setting up your datafruits account
You’ll receive an email from info@datafruits.fm with your username and password (change it!).
Login and click on “Profile” to confirm your username, post a bio (optional), and upload a user image.
IMPORTANT! Set your timezone on the Profile page or on the “Settings” page under your username in the upper right-hand corner. This will make sure that the schedule is accurate when you add your shows.

Scheduling pre-recorded show:
You can record your show in advance and have it play automatically during your time slot.
First go to 'My Shows' in the right hand user menu.
Then click on EPISODES under your show.
Find the next show in the UPCOMING column.
On the form there, you can upload an mp3 under the PRERECORDED SET text, and click UPDATE EPISODE.
And you're done. Currently only mp3s are supported.
Be sure to add any details about the show in the description, or specific artwork for the show here!
Artwork guidelines
Solid image with no text is preferred. We feel this makes the overall design of the site a bit more comprehensive. Text isn't really necessary since the text is already on the website.
promote show
Tag @datafruits on social media, and we'll do our best to retweet it. If you'd like access to the datafruits social media accounts, just DM an admin for the credentials, we're happy to share.
Testing
Feel free to test your connection whenever there isn’t a show scheduled. (Check the datafruits.fm/timetable first! )
Join the chat so you can ask people if it sounds ok.
During the show
It is highly recommended to get a microphone so you can say something on the air.
Please say something on the mic, at least your name, what you’re going to play, what you had for breakfast, etc.
Track IDs are optional but the listeners will likely appreciate it!
Joining the chat is a great way to connect with listeners!

Archive show
DJs are responsible for uploading their own archives.

First go to 'My Shows' in the right hand user menu.
Then click on the episode's EDIT button under ARCHIVES under.
- check the 'use prerecorded show as archive' box if you did a prerecord or
- select the recording from the dropdown menu to use as the recording if you streamed live
- set the status to 'Published' and click 'Update Episode'
Upload to soundcloud and or mixcloud
You can download the mp3 from the media page and upload it to soundcloud.
Copy the title and artwork from the site.

mcfiredrill tries to upload as many sets to youtube as possible, but bug him if you want yours uploaded and its not up yet!
